People. I hear George Santos is roaming Capitol Hill today. If you have intel — sightings, selfies, résumé drafts for “Chief of Staff” — my whistleblower inboxes (texts and DMs) are open.

I get extremely irritated at people looking at their phones while walking. Have some effing awareness! You’re keeping me from looking at my phone while walking.

Oversight will mark up Rep. Scott Perry’s bill to repeal two DC traffic laws tomorrow. Since his office routes all calls to voicemail, I walked over and got his press staffer’s contact info for all the local DC journalists who’ve asked today. You’re welcome!

Hit Walker up with all your questions. Example: Rep. Perry’s home state of Pennsylvania uses speed cameras extensively. Since he’s been trying to ban them in DC for 5 years, does he also support banning them in PA?

“Sorry for the train ride this morning. This train’s got a mind of its own.” — My Metro train driver this morning. Hmm.

Rep. Perry is being disingenuous in this Oversight hearing, claiming that visitors would have to fly back to DC to contest traffic tickets. You can contest traffic tickets in DC online, by mail, and in virtual hearings.

Oversight has recessed and will take a recorded vote on Rep. Perry’s bill to repeal two DC traffic laws when it reconvenes at 2:30 this afternoon.

I’m told you actually have to request an in-person hearing to get one. It’s not the default, and it’s certainly not a requirement.

Hill friends, it’s not that difficult to dress so that you don’t set off the metal detectors. Please try. The lines have been long lately and faster screening benefits everyone.
