Rep. Perry is being disingenuous in this Oversight hearing, claiming that visitors would have to fly back to DC to contest traffic tickets. You can contest traffic tickets in DC online, by mail, and in virtual hearings.

Oversight has recessed and will take a recorded vote on Rep. Perry’s bill to repeal two DC traffic laws when it reconvenes at 2:30 this afternoon.

I’m told you actually have to request an in-person hearing to get one. It’s not the default, and it’s certainly not a requirement.
