Today we celebrated #Nationalbiodiversityweek with 4th Class Students at Parteen National School. Clare County Council Biodiversity Officer teamed up with An Taisce's Green Schools Travel Officer Sarah Hegarty, Parteen Town Team's Rosie Rutherford and 4th Class Teacher Ruth Andrews.

We have installed new pollinator signs at several Ennis roundabouts with Ennis Tidy Towns which are managed as pollinator friendly zones which partners with the All Ireland All-Ireland Pollinator Plan . The signs are funded by Clare County Council Biodiversity Officer with support from Ennis MD

With #WorldWetlandsDay being celebrated on 2nd February, there's no better time to share a few updates from the wetland surveys we undertook for Clare County Council in 2024 - just one part of the ongoing effort to protect Ireland's wetland ecosystem.
. Clare County Council Biodiversity Officer along with local landowner Sean Tubridy and Knocknahila Community Group have recently rewetted 27 acres of blanket bog. This is the second peatland community rewetting project to be undertaken in Clare and the first of its kind in West Clare.
