April is sexual assault awareness month #SAAM2024 . Over half of women have experienced sexual violence in their lifetimes. 6 in 7 rapes against women are carried out by someone they know. This month, and every month, we are thinking of the victims and survivors of sexual assault.

Sexual violence can and does happen to anyone, and all survivors & victims deserve access to specialist support and justice. We also know that sexual violence is disproportionately perpetrated against women & children by men, and this must be acknowledged if we hope to tackle it.

Today marks the start of Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week. Throughout the week we'll be sharing information about child rape and sexual abuse, and the support available for victims and survivors.
