Kansas is #38 in the country for gun law strength. Total murders in 2020 were the highest since the FBI began publishing Crime in the US in 1959. #ksleg #EndGunViolence Senator Jerry Moran everytownresearch.org/rankings/state…

#ksleg Public health laws are not just about Covid. They’re about congenital syphilis in Saline County and tuberculosis in other counties, for example. Don’t throw the babies out with the bathwater. These laws have been successful for 100+ years for a reason.

Last week, Governor Laura Kelly signed the bipartisan bill that will gradually reduce the state sales tax on food, beginning in January 2023. That's good news for families in every corner of the state who will have more money in their pockets next year.

But make no mistake: we can do more, sooner. Text AXETHETAX to 33339 today to tell Republican legislators to stop fooling around with our money and move the elimination date up to July 1. #ksleg

The fight to defend safe and legal abortion in Kansas isn't over. Kansas will be the first state in the nation to vote on reproductive freedom in the post-Roe era. Help us defeat the constitutional amendment on 8/2 → bit.ly/3OiX0vN #Dobbs #RoeVsWade

To sum it up: We were able to save for the future in record numbers, fully fund K-12 education, make historic investments in law enforcement and higher education, fund infrastructure and our roads, and axe taxes...all without going into debt. 4/

I'm late, but Happy #AxeTheFoodTax Day Kansas! As of yesterday sales tax on food dropped from 6.5% to 4%, saving an average family of 4 $500 a year on groceries. Thank you Governor Laura Kelly & a bipartisan group in the #ksleg for getting this done! Story ⬇️ kake.com/story/48058238…

BIG NEWS: You may remember that under my predecessor, Kansas' credit rating and outlook was downgraded 4 times. Because of the failed tax experiment, Kansas was seen as a bad investment. Today, S&P Global improved Kansas' credit outlook, citing our fiscal responsibility.
