Year 5 enjoyed their trip to the Guildhall Museum exploring the Victorian era and boats in preparation for STEM week Garnet Class The Inspire Partnership Elaine Primary
Y6 have started off #STEMweek researching different tunnel structures in the South East. Weβre collating our information as moodboards and will build on our research in computing this afternoon Elaine Science | Miss K Elaine Primary Tanzanite @ Elaine | Miss Lakha The Inspire Partnership
What a fantastic start to STEM Week. We decided to start the week with a whole school assembly, where we learned about electricity and how it works! EYFS then had the time to complete an experiment using acid and alkeli! The outcome was thrilling! Elaine Primary
Weβve had great fun immersing into STEM week, researching the importance of castles in England. We found that our very own Rochester castle, was once bombarded with 40 fat pigs, set on fire, to force rebels to retreat! π£π₯π·π°Elaine Science | Miss K Elaine Primary
Y6 investigated the durability of different materials in science today then reflected on their results to determine which would be the most suitable material to construct a water tunnel from Elaine Primary Tanzanite @ Elaine | Miss Lakha Elaine Science | Miss K
This afternoon, we tested different objects to see how the shape and material effected how they moved through the water. The Inspire Partnership Elaine Primary Elaine Science | Miss K #stemweek
We have been designing and building our water tunnel prototypes in our STEM groups today considering how shape and varying heights will affect the speed of water flow Elaine Science | Miss K Elaine Primary The Inspire Partnership Tanzanite @ Elaine | Miss Lakha
We have been enjoying building bridges as part of our STEM week learning today. We discussed the challenges we encountered and how we will adapt our approach to our bridge building tomorrow π©βπ¬π¨βπ¬π₯Όπ§ͺElaine Primary
It is STEM week! We have been discovering different types of bridges and used our knowledge of their structures to design and build our very own bridges! Elaine Science | Miss K The Inspire Partnership Elaine Education Centre Elaine Primary
This afternoon, we are making our prototype boats πΆ #stemweek Elaine Primary The Inspire Partnership Elaine Science | Miss K
We spent the afternoon building our prototypes. Our project is around Rochester Castle and the big question weβre tackling is βDoes the weight of a building affect its strengthβ. We built light and heavy castles and tested their balance against British weather! Elaine Primary
We are really enjoying STEM week and exploring our big question, Does the size of the boat impact how fast it travels? Elaine Primary The Inspire Partnership Elaine Science | Miss K
Today in assembly we invited our pupils to bring their prototypes and explain what they had been investigating during STEM week! It was wonderful to hear about their new discoveries! Elaine Primary #STEMWEEK π‘οΈπ¬π§«
We tested our prototypes against wind and water. The heavy castle won! We proved the theory that heavy materials are needed to make a strong building. #STEMweek Elaine Primary Elaine Science | Miss K
We really enjoyed learning how sound travels through the WOOFYT! #stemweek Thank you Elaine Science | Miss K for organising. Elaine Primary
We learnt how complex some instruments were with non-return valves and recalled our understanding of pitch and dynamic from music! #stemweek Elaine Primary Elaine Science | Miss K
Today we had a special visit from Jeremy Sampson, who delivered an amazing workshop as apart of #STEM Week! He taught us that although music can seem like a world apart from science, technology and engineering, there are lots of connections to be explored The Inspire Partnership Elaine Primary
We enjoyed our STEM workshop Elaine Primary The Inspire Partnership Elaine Science | Miss K
Today in Science, we have been using the puppets we made before half term to test how light sources create shadows. We found that the closer the light source, the bigger the shadow Elaine Primary
In science today we discussed how the number of bulbs/ batteries changes the brightness in a circuit. We wrote our predictions and then reflected on our predictions after the investigation. The outcomes were interesting! Elaine Primary Elaine Science | Miss K
