We enjoyed a lovely Autumn walk this morning for Science. We noticed many signs of Autumn, such as Autumnal leaves, windy weather, conkers and pine cones 🍂 🍁 🌬 Science-StElizabeth's
Science-StElizabeth's #year4 Together we explored the properties of a variety of balls discussing their similarities and differences. We learned about how balls bounce. We predicted which ball would be the bounciest.
What components are needed to make a circuit? We’ve investigated what we needed to make a parallel and series circuit. Science-StElizabeth's
We enjoyed an Autumn walk this week for Science looking for signs of Autumn. We noticed all the different colours of the leaves, the change in weather and the conker nuts. We also talked about the pumpkins! Science-StElizabeth's #year1
Science 2SB carried out an investigation to see which fabric was the most durable. We rubbed various fabrics with sandpaper. We found that the cotton fabric was the best and did not show much wear and tear. Science-StElizabeth's #year 2
We went on a mini beast hunt for our Science lesson today! We found worms, centipedes and slugs! Science-StElizabeth's #year1
We looked for minibeasts outside today and learnt about their habitats. We liked using the magnifying glasses to get a closer look 👀 Science-StElizabeth's
We had a puddle of water in our classroom today so we had a discussion about what would be the best way to clean it up. We completed a class tally chart of different types of materials we thought were the most absorbent to clean it up! Science-StElizabeth's #year1
We’ve been investigating whether the length of the wire in a circuit affects the brightness of a bulb. It’s all about the resistance. Some groups checked their findings with buzzers and motors too. Science-StElizabeth's
In Science, we learnt about the famous inventor Charles Macintosh🧑🔬 We had to go to each table to learn an important fact about the inventor and write it down on our fact file🥼🧬 Science-StElizabeth's
We were amazing in Science today! We learnt about different groups of animals and sorted a range of pictures into the correct categories. Miss O’Connor put on some K-pop whilst we worked 😊 Can’t beat a little sing a long 🎶 Science-StElizabeth's
An impromptu science lesson provided by the wonderful learning environment of Early Years! The children were keen to explore and discuss their ideas of how/why the ice was formed, and why it was melting. Science-StElizabeth's 🥰♥️
We recapped on what we had learnt in Science through our Computing lesson 😊 I was very impressed that we remembered the differences between mammals, reptiles, amphibians and what vertebrates mean! We put our knowledge to the test with a quiz Science-StElizabeth's
In Science today we were looking at the fossilisation process. As we already know, fossils can sometimes be found in sedimentary rocks. Science-StElizabeth's
We love our practical science lessons. Today we were testing different materials in a simple series circuit to see if they were conductors or insulators. Our predictions were very accurate and we learnt that the best conductors are metals.Science-StElizabeth's
In Science we sorted animals into different groups: amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds and fish 🐠 🐘 🦅 🐢 🐍 Science-StElizabeth's
Year 2 Science Children investigated what happens when they change the surfaces that a toy car is travelling over. We found out that the rough surfaces cause more friction so slows the car down. The smoother the surface the quicker the car moves. Science-StElizabeth's #year 2
In Science, we investigated what different materials used as a surface are best and worst for a toy car to travel over. We found that on carpet the toy car traveled the slowest and it was very tough to push and on tin foil it was very fast and very easy to push🚗 Science-StElizabeth's
In Science we completed our observations of what are different souls like, seeing what happens to them when water is added as well as when they dry out Science-StElizabeth's
Yesterday in Science, we were investigating which materials were good conductors of electricity and which ones were insulators ⚡️💡Science-StElizabeth's
