Shane Carter, director of KSDE's Teacher Licensure, is providing an update on the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program (RTAP). KSDE implemented a small pilot during the 2023-2024 school year and opened the RTAP program statewide during the 2024-2025 school year.

Yesterday, a couple of our talented teacher apprentices took center stage at the State BOE meeting! Their presentations highlighted the incredible growth, passion and dedication they bring to the classroom every day. We couldn’t be prouder of how they represented the district!

We took a group to the 7 on 7 tounament today in Garden City sponsored by the FCA. Listened to a great message at lunch and came away with the championship afterwards out of 12 teams! These young men played hard. Learned some valuable lessons on and off the field!
