This is a collaborative work between Intelligent Mobility @ UCL (IM@UCL) UCL Centre for Transport Studies PEARLplace CEGE UCL & University of Southampton & Bournemouth Uni & University of Leeds Press Office within a Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council funded project E-Drone Research. Thanks to the #DiscoveryHub - Grow #BloomsburyFestival2023 for giving us this fantastic opportunity!
We were pleased to show our latest research in Soft and Compliant #Robotics at the #BrightonSummit Brighton Chamber University of Sussex Engineering and Informatics at Sussex Hareesh Godaba
Scaling down soft robots: Dr Shi Jialei created miniaturised soft manipulators with reinforced actuation chambers & a free inner lumen <10mm. This work is a collaboration with Profs. Menciassi SantAnnaPisa, Kaspar Althoefer ARQ QMUL, Dr Sara Abad UCL Robotics UCL MechEng
Many thanks for the support from the pioneering and leading roboticists Prof. Arianna Menciassi and Prof. Kaspar Althoefer Kaspar Althoefer, my UCL supervisors Prof. Helge A Wurdemann Helge Wurdemann and Dr. Sara Adela Abad G. Dr Sara Abad. UCL Robotics UCL MechEng
My latest paper on using compliance control for elasticity sensing and palpation is now available on early access in IEEE Transactions on Robotics. ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10454… Thank you to Helge Wurdemann and Dr Sara Abad for their support in this paper.
Today, UCL will celebrate UCL Grand Challenges of Human Wellbeing! Come and join the reception in the North Cloisters at 4pm. UCL Grand Challenges were introduced more than 15 years ago - it’s time to reflect and look into future challenges! UCL MechEng UCL Engineering UCL Global Engagement
It was a pleasure to talk about #bioinspiration #robots and #touch feedback systems at the Pint of Science UK UK last Wednesday. It was a great opportunity to apply what I learnt during my UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering Impact Fellowship at UCL MechEng. Many thanks Alice Hardy Helge Wurdemann.
Many congrats to Dr Duncan G. Raitt for his @UCL PhD. UCLmecheng, he created a soft, compliance-controllable sensor, measuring soft tissue stiffness, used hand-held/robotically, suitable for MIS & purely mechanical & camera agnostic. UCL Robotics youtube.com/watch?v=TX3Icv…
The idea emerged from Dr Angela's PhD supervised by Prof. Kaspar Althoefer, presented at conferences such as ICRA (lnkd.in/eSkseExd), IEEE EMBC (lnkd.in/e2ei8X3C) & published in MDPI (lnkd.in/eiD3QVNW, IF: 3.9). King's CoRe
The work resulted in IEEE Sensors Council (lnkd.in/d4RqffUm) & IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO) papers (lnkd.in/eSBb34dq), emerged from my Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council NIA called INSTINCT (EP/S014039/1). UCL MechEng financially supported Duncan's PhD, supervised together with Dr Dr Sara Abad & Prof. Homer-V.
We are preparing the exhibition demo of our soft tissue stiffness sensor at the The Hamlyn Centre’s #HSMR24. Come and visit the team from UCL MechEng UCL Soft Haptics and Robotics UCL Robotics and King's College London Guy's and St Thomas' on 26/27 June!
