Chair of the NHS Confederation Victor Adebowale says the use of ā€œperformativeā€ language needs to stop, and the government should show more 'compassion'

It's insulting. The government needs to tackle the root cause of poor mental health. Not demonise people for failures of the systems meant to support them. ITV News

Rishi Sunak today announced plans to review the fit note system for people who arenā€™t well enough to work, with a focus on mental health.

His speech continues a trend in recent rhetoric that is stigmatising, harmful, and inaccurate.

Microsoft Word: Yes. I've also altered your margins, converted all 'a' to $, printed page 4, and hidden one of your shoes. Is there anything else I can help you with?

It's time to scrap the rotten, immoral Department for Work and Pensions.

'The inane attempt to prosecute people caring for their disabled loved ones is proof there's no hope for them. Once in power, Labour must close the dept, restaff it and relaunch under a new name.'

It's astounding that, in 2024, an alternative music station like BBC Radio 6 Music has a single day of programming inspired by Courtney Love and it still inspires patronising and snide comments from certain people (mostly men).

Same vibe as the Yoko Ono haters. It's exhausting.
