Before machines, there were hands pulling meaning through thread, through clay, through rhythm. Why do we call artificial intelligence artificial when every part of it is shaped by human perception, error, adaptation?

What if it’s not a machine at all, but a loom, a cipher, a living system? Not cold logic, but accumulation, improvisation, call and response. If intelligence is something that grows, like stories, like seeds, like networks of roots and signals, then what are we really making?
