New data shows a concerning rise in suicidal thoughts, attempts and self-harm in the last decade. Suicidal thoughts have increased to 1 in 4 up from a previous 1 in 5. It’s clear that investment in suicide prevention is non-negotiable.

We're still taking on applications for new volunteers! Weymouth branch is entirely volunteer run, from admin to the branch Director. We are in desperate need of more volunteers to enable us to keep helping those in crisis 💚 Details on how to get in touch and apply below:

For Samaritans Awareness Day, volunteers from Weymouth had a wonderful day engaging with our community on Weymouth Seafront. We were approached by both locals and tourists — some thanked us for being there, while others took materials to pass on to those in need 💚 Thank you 🙏🏻

Our street collection team were out in Bridport last week, raising just over £535 for our branch 💸 The volunteers had many meaningful conversations, speaking to people who had lost family through suicide and others that couldn't cope without our support 💚 Thank you to all 💚
