Today is Bernard's last day at STV. He's been with us for 34 years and I have worked with him for 9 of those. It's been a privilege to watch Bernard front some of the biggest political moments of our times. And many fun memories too. Happy semi-retirement Bernard.

Tomorrow's UK budget will be the first in almost a decade that sets out a platform for the election campaign. Hard to believe given how many times we've been to the polls, but with the last 2 elections being snap ones, we haven't actually had a pre-election budget since 2015.

Inverness MSP Fergus Ewing has failed to overturn his suspension from the SNP. He is out for a week and says of his future “let the cards fall as they may. If the SNP cannot cope with that, so be it.”
