Another fantastic The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition for Year 9 this week - well done to all the students who have walked and camped over the last few weeks and thank you to Mr Hellewell and Miss Jordon for helping students toward their Bronze Awards!
Year 9 have had a fantastic day at Bradford Literature Festival where they considered more being positive activists in our communities. We were all blown away when Elora Y9 performed this rap which her and Sakina Y9 had written during a session today about our academy’s values & drivers!
It was our absolute pleasure to host short visits yesterday from Year 9 and Year 7 students from Dixons McMillan Academy. The students were really engaged with the building and features - you are always welcome to come back for a longer visit!
In Art and Design Year 8 have been working on the theme ‘Under the Sea' using recyclable materials to create 3D models from corrugated cardboard. Students have shown resilience in learning tessellation, marking out, measuring and modelling their 3D sea animals. Dixons McMillan Academy

In art this term we have been learning about the Aboriginal culture and meanings of Symbolism in a culture with no written language. Students created their own dreamtime stories and turned them into beautiful artwork inspired by Michael Tjakamarra Dixons McMillan Academy
Year 6 Transition day Dixons McMillan Academy was a huge success,it was great to see so many happy faces in Art creating Quintin Blake inspired book marks!
