Had a great morning snorkelling for #turtles . We caught 11 #hicatee and 1 slider (bokatura), including multiple of these adorable little turtle nuggets. They are roughly 1 year old and have a long way to go before becoming adults. #Belize #Conservation #Fieldwork #SaveTheHicatee

Educating and building Belize's research capacity are core goals for the station, so it was great to have volunteers from The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center and the Environmental Club at University of Belize join us last night for our hicatee surveys with Wildlife Conservation Society Belize. We caught 9 #turtles ! Great job team.

Just kidding. At all of their monthly checkups the #turtles are ultrasounded. Turtle #7 may as well have been at a spa, though. She was so relaxed &chill.

A beautiful Erebid Moth (Ascalapha odorata) sometimes called a 'black witch.' There is a lot of folk lore around this species, with them often being associated with death, but we think they are lovely and enjoy seeing them.
