Today, we honour generations of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples who have served with courage. From the War of 1812 to Afghanistan, Indigenous veterans shaped Canada’s military history—yet many returned to discrimination. Lest we forget.

It’s Indigenous Veterans Day- thank you to all veterans, and those in service. Your sacrifice for the safety of our country will always be remembered. And a special thank you to Gerald Lazzar who served in the Korean War for speaking with me today.
