A scary phenomenon that we observed: some of the websites behave differently depending on your browser (or other factors), e.g., the website Dennikn.sk presents a cookie wall to Chrome users and a soft paywall to Firefox users. Read more: arxiv.org/pdf/2209.09946…

It made for a worrying read! Why? 1. lack of alignment between supervisory authorities in the EEA. Uncertainty is bad for business, publishers included! 2. IAB TCF's predominance in paywalls, defying the exact function of NOT paying with personal data 😱
