Earlier this year as a PhD representative at TCD I was involved in drafting a new policy for PhD maternity leave. Despite our insistence that paid maternity leave be introduced for Trinity funded PhDs who work for the university, this was blocked by dean. This award is a sham.

Students stand in solidarity with the Postgraduate Workers’ Organisation (PWO TCD) at Trinity College Dublin in their decision to strike. We stand behind their core demands for workers’ rights, a living wage, workplace respect, and fair treatment for non-EU and disabled PGRs.

We won. Students, staff and the public united have pushed Trinity towards #BDS principles. Commitment to full divestment. Ending procurement relationships. A full review of academic ties, with students and staff represented and an intent to cut them. This must now spread! 🇵🇸🇵🇸
