i wish people would consider what others may be going through themselves before being upset someone can't show up for them they way they want them to. giving your friends the benefit of the doubt before jumping to the defense can go a long way.

my coworker said something so interesting yesterday ~ he said he was at capacity for empathy and had nothing left to give to anyone else which has left people in his life upset. he said he lost friends because of it. all because he's been going through a tough time.

People who feel the need to compete with you are so exhausting. Especially when you’re just trying to coexist peacefully with them

Ive learned the hard way that giving too much help is a surefire way to sabotage anything good left in the relationship.

Helping people financially is just not sustainable for long term friendship for a few reasons:

• Very rarely does…

Some people can’t handle a bad bitch with philosophical thoughts and a positive outlook on life and it shows.

You can’t be close friends with people who refuse to help themselves. The friendship will eventually become one sided, or worse it’ll become extremely destructive for you.

Friendships are beginning to unravel due to differences in economic status.

Not that it hasn’t happened before, but now you’ll really start to notice how impossible it’ll feel to maintain a *close* friendship with someone who’s not taking care of themselves or who’s chronically…
