Today UNFPA Nigeria in collaboration with National Population Commission & other stakeholders held a press briefing in observance of the #worldpopulationday .
Ulla E. Müller, Country Representative UNFPA Nigeria underscored the crucial role gender equality plays in attaining sustainable development.

The media briefing was organized in collaboration with UNFPA Nigeria. In attendance were UNFPA Resident Representative, Ulla E. Müller and other partners from the Federal Ministry of Health, NIGERIA, National Orientation Agency, Nigeria,
EVA Nigeria., Wellbeing Foundation Africa, Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria.

Women & girls have faced numerous obstacles and systemic barriers that have limited their potential for centuries. Discrimination, gender-based violence, limited access to healthcare, education, and unequal economic opportunities have impeded their progress - Ulla E. Müller #WPD2023

Today, I successfully launched 454 houses as part of the Labondo Local Integration Project, aimed at assisting internally displaced persons (IDPs) in our state. Today, we proudly inaugurate Labondo Local Integration Project, a manifestation of António Guterres agenda for #IDPs .

This initiative, led by Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri & #UNHCR , marks a new chapter in our journey to provide sustainable solutions for IDPs + consider needs of host communities
