AY 24-25 is finished. Students’ last day was today. Class of ‘25 graduates tomorrow night. 9 years of teaching under my belt. Now it’s time for some R&R, PD, and dissertation writing.

I need something that will slap me upside the head every time I get distracted from writing my dissertation (like I should be doing now). #ADHD

There is an unnerving trend in both education & the military when it comes to policy making. Those who are in position to make policy change or claim to know what’s best, served minimal to no time in that profession and refuse to listen to those with knowledge or experience.

Imposter syndrome is no joke when working on your dissertation. 😢

I am over the moon proud of my AP Calc & AP Precalc kids from last year. They worked so hard and it paid off. I believed in you and you rose to the challenge. Precalc scores were .2% below global average and higher than TX avg Joseph Cerna, Ed. D. Robert G. Cole Middle/High School

Last day in Switzerland. It is a stunningly beautiful country and I am glad I had the opportunity to tour it with my eldest daughter.

Yesterday I had some wonderful Math Therapy with the amazing vanessa vakharia CAMT Conference learning how to redefine success and failure. Everyone IS a math person!

Learned how to rewrite questions to encourage talking and exploring with Lidia Gonzalez , then spent 3 hours refining BTC skills with Peter Liljedahl. CAMT Conference is where the Math Peeps are at!

Did you know your students can hear functions? David Henson taught us how to use the sound feature in Desmos to help students hear/see how functions behave. CAMT Conference. So cool

Having ADHD as an adult is challenging. Some aspects of my life are organized and others are a hot mess. I’ve been working on how to give my day some structure and my therapist recommended the app Finch. At first I thought it juvenile, but 30 days in and I am seeing improvement.

Getting ready for school by shaking off the cobwebs and doing some Calculus while waiting for my flight. The nervous stares from fellow passengers is humorous and yet sad. #iteachmath #youareamathperson
