It's been a slow but steady few months on the patch near St Albans. At the weekend, a Wigeon was new for the year. But today, I found a #patchgold Dartford Warbler. A patch tick (29 years!) and Herts rarity. Fortunately my photographer Rupert Evershed was on hand today. #PWC2025

A perfect afternoon of local patch birding with 9 Whooper Swans seen to drop into Tyttenhanger GPs & then a Cattle Egret was found amongst the gulls. Breaks my previous local year record taking me to 154 species this year seen within 5 miles of home! #hertsbirds #londonbirds

Another good day in Cornwall - great views of the Ring-billed Gull at Hayle & managed to re-locate the Curlew Sandpiper on Carnsew Pool. An unseasonal Garganey also on show - oddly my second this year already! Year list now a healthy 118 Cornwall Birds
