Welcome to Ruislip High! This morning we greeting our brand new Year 7s to the school. We are sure they will thrive as a part of our ambitious and supportive school community.

Yesterday evening the Drama department kicked off the academic year with a trip for the Year 11 and 13 Drama students to see a performance of ‘As You Like It’ at The Globe. It was a brilliant evening, loved by the students.

The school would like to thank Comic Relief chair eric salama for visiting the school for a second time last week. He volunteered again to speak to our fresh cohort of Year 12 Sixth Form students about organising Red Nose Day.

Tomorrow, from 4:30pm-6:30pm, there will be an opportunity to pick up a bargain at our second-hand uniform sale. The sale will be held in the Atrium. Cash and card accepted.

A huge congratulations to the Year 8 Girls’ Football Team for their win in the final against Swakeleys, in the Hillingdon Borough U13s Football nine-a-side tournament. Absolutely smashed it! ⚽️🏆

On Monday, the GCSE and A Level Drama students headed out to The Kiln Theatre to watch a performance of The Frogs. Everyone enjoyed the show - although one Year 11 described it as “like watching a really mad dream!”

It was such fun in Edinburgh just now to see students from Ruislip High School performing a 40-minute adaptation of Little Women. Maybe one or two future stars among them. One of the highlights of my week.

On Wednesday 13th November, 2024, from 5-7pm, we will be opening our doors for our Sixth Form Open Evening. This will be a fantastic opportunity to find about the exciting range of Post-16 options available to students joining us in September 2025.

Save the date! Our next community event, Bingo Night, will be taking place on Wednesday 27th November, 2024 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Hosted by the Friends of RHS, the evening will be a fun, adults only, event and will feature bingo and a charity raffle. Tickets on sale soon.

Our students had a great time on their first day in Barcelona. The group safely arrived and went straight to Tarragona to enjoy the Roman sights and explore the old town. In the evening, students ate in a Tapas restaurant. The ensaladilla rusa and patatas bravas were a hit!

Don’t forget to book tickets for our Friends of RHS Bingo Night - coming up this Wednesday 27th November, 5:30-7:30pm. Tickets for the event and the Friends raffle draw are both available on ParentPay. We look forward to seeing you there!

This morning was the Sixth Form celebration assembly, which was a chance to say thank you and goodbye to the current Sixth Form Student Leadership Team, who made had an incredible impact in our school community. Our next leadership team will be appointed in January 2025.

Today, the A Level Media Studies students headed into London to attend a study day at the BFI Southbank. The students enjoyed an informative day, with plenty of student participation.

Just a reminder that our whole school food bank appeal, led by the Friends of Ruislip High, ends this Thursday 19th December. Please can we ask that all donations are handed in to your child’s tutor by this date. All donations will make such a difference!

On Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th December, the RHS Drama Department delighted audiences to a performance of Shakespeare’s King Lear. This phenomenal production featured students from Years 10-13, with behind the scenes for the show also produced by our students.

Not long left to donate towards our Spring Term food bank collection, organised by the Friends of Ruislip High. Please can we ask that all donations are made by Thursday 1st April, ready for items to be collected on Friday 2nd April. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.
