But other things like decent playing and wet weather training facilities would be a huge plus in retaining kids I reckon. We used to train in a horse barn in the depths of winter!

They have to then obviously be whittled down over the coming months to form the Dewar Shield squad for next season. The numbers are there people!

But seems to be a real disparity in clubs/areas fortunes. Some thriving others shrinking. Catchment area is key- lots of clubs in a small area competing for players is hard work. End game sadly will be clubs folding/amalgamating

Building good relationships with primary & secondary schools is important. We have a number of players join throughout the season due to PE teachers recommending our club. 2. We never turn a player away, rugby is for all. Development is as important as winning.
