Thank you Geri, Pam and Peter for today's litter pick in Princess Elizabeth Park, Hull. 2 trolleys returned to Tescos, a rucksack taken to the charity shop and a roll of green mesh fencing repurposed! #Hull

Thank you to Debbie and Ed for this weekend's litter pick of Beresford Avenue, Hull. 2 bags, mostly from wheelie bins stored in front gardens 💚

On the left is a Rosemary we planted in our pollinators' corridor. Despite it being mowed over by a council worker we were hopeful it might pull through. Then they returned and sprayed it with herbicide. So, I think we can be confident they've done a thorough job now.

Thank you to Marjorie for her litter pick of her #Hull street this week. Unfortunately the grass cutters had been out, so the rubbish was in lots of small pieces, but still a good walk in the sunshine 💚

Thank you to Mandy and her mum for her litter pick of Oak Road this week, and thank you to #AsdaFoundation #GreenTokenGiving for funding which has enabled us to buy and loan out this equipment 💚

The dreaded grass cutters, turning 1 large piece of rubbish in to 100 small ones, again. This is one of the reasons I am taking a break from litter picking ~ Debbie

Thank you to Jason from Hull City Council who came out to collect a sharp within an hour of me reporting it. He took away a dead rat too. We really appreciate his excellent customer service as this weekend a couple of us will be weeding and litter picking this flower bed again 💚

It's difficult to stay buoyant. Saplings mown down by verge mowing, community planting sprayed with herbicide by contractors and now trees near a primary school vandalised.

Community planting of lavender and daffodils in 'grass' verges has been repeatedly mown over and sprayed with herbicide. We have tried to bounce back each time, but there comes a point when you have to admit defeat. This is a thorough dowsing. Hull City Council

The council were promptly in touch last week, apologised and offered to provide replacement plants. (I'm still sitting this one out, but will keep an eye out for any developments ~ Debbie).
