One thing I did really like about the transit in Amsterdam was that tickets were sold by time rather than trips. Compared to a “one trip” ticket, this one hour ticket allows a quick stop between trips and to switch modes (ie metro to bus).

Yes, bike infrastructure is the standout feature of Amsterdam, but it is also incredibly walkable. I think a huge contributing factor is the amount of pedestrian-only alleys (like this one) that provide easy and comfortable connections between streets.

These Just Stop Oil people are like the Monkey Wrench Gang…except real and super British. Controversial but I do hold some amount of respect for these people getting radical for the planet.

Transit advocates need to emphasize that the more people out of cars, the better it is for those who continue driving. It’s how we can make advocates out of even the most stubborn drivers.
