A taste of summer ☀️⛳️

Tough week with 3 mainline irrigation bursts in 3 days resulting in no water for half the week right after maintenance. But we are back up and running with a wetter applied for the weekend. Credit to the team for getting the holes dug to fix irrigation 🤝🏻⛳️ #Firm 😅

Another challenging week with more ongoing pump and water supply issues setting us back a few days, greens sitting at low 20% moisture. Just trying to keep things ticking over at this current moment 🙏🏼⛳️

Course has sprung back to life after 21mm in 2 days. Gives us a break from the intense watering and a chance to fix more leaks to improve water efficiency 🤓

Club Championship Preparations 🏆 Trying our best to keep on top of moisture and giving greens their much needed aeration with the heatwave inbound. Hate to see the rest of the course drying up 😒 Team have smashed it while I was on holiday 🤝🏻⛳️

My last day at The Club At Mill Green today before I start my next chapter at Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Club! I couldn’t be more grateful to Rob for how much he’s pushed me and helped me progress through my time at MG and also to the rest of the team with the way they made every day enjoyable.

June 2024 - June 2025 300mm+ behind on rainfall compared to last year, the battle for moisture continues! 🌧️🙏🏼

Successful start to the week with a downpour of 14mm giving irrigated areas a green up. 🌧️ Gave us the chance to get greens verticut and begin hopefully our regular maintenance on them. Thanks to Jason Hatton Arkley golf club for use of the machine 🙏🏼⛳️

Ready for another heatwave 😅⛳️

All surfaces sprayed with foliars/wetting agents ahead of the weekends storm. Be nice to give the pumps a break 🙏🏼🌧️ Few more irrigation repairs and upgrades to fairway landing zones, safe to say irrigated areas are growing 🌱

45mm in 2 days gave us a big green up and a chance to get some definition to the course 🤩⛳️

Greens aeration completed in a day, new tines installed. Sprinkler replacements ongoing on all apps/tees with i40 duals. Also managing to locate some capped off fairway irrigation and get pipework replaced then new i90 dual heads put in then wired into the system 🤩⛳️

Crazy what a bit of rain can do to the course 😮⛳️

Light top dress on select greens, moisture checks and valve diaphragm replacements. Another successful week on the course 🤩 Bit of Anthrax knocking about and expecting more pressure next week so foliars and fungicides at the ready 🤓

Couldn’t be happier with the current condition of the course 🤩 Team smashing it as always 👌🏼⛳️

Harsh reality of the weather at the moment, not so much the heat but the wind really limiting sprinkler efficiency and anthrax has took over on a few greens 🦠 Rain due over the next few days and maintenance planned for next week 🙏🏼
