In my review of Helen Joyce’s ‘Trans’, I paid gender ideology the great compliment of calling it ‘flimsy’. Given the activists’ responses to Helen’s book, I now realise this was over-generous, it should have been ‘baseless’. Look where the responses sit in the hierarchy.

Today I decided that I will no longer be reviewing for journals that are not publishing or do not have concrete plans to make public their author diversity data. If they don't care about equity and inclusion enough to publish these data, then they don't deserve my free labor.

May you find and create spaces where you don’t have to fight, defend, anticipate, perform, prove your humanity. May you have space to breathe, be, create, and bloom. Let it be so.

Humility doesn’t have to mean saying “I can’t.” Humility can mean saying “I can’t…yet.” Being humble doesn’t have to limit what you think you’re capable of. Instead, humility recognizes the need to continually learn and grow in order to achieve those ambitious goals.

Asking this again with a poll!☺️ Does your program, graduate school, or work place have an exit evaluation or mentor form after a student/scientist works in that lab? Ex: form to give feedback on one's experience in that lab (mentorship, file concerns, etc.) Please share / RT!

I know there are people whose lives are being shortened because they work in spaces where they are being tortured. HR and equity offices don't work. The people in the orgs are too afraid and apathetic. Save yourself before you die in that place. You are worth more. 5/5

@kristinllovett #RealRealTalk If I had to go through that mess, I'm making sure that others don't have to go through it or are coming out of it too. I not leaving people behind. We are all getting to the promised land. I'm about that life until I take my last breath. Believe that.
