In the Manchester Evening News today. Only RT if you seriously believe that it’s time to end this chaos and death. We need safer streets now. Not consultations and platitudes.

One of our engineers brought his daughters and their friends out for a cycle to test our new coastal cycle route. This safe space for pedestrians and cyclists has been completely transformed recently and we're delighted our 4 young product testers approve of the works!

Drax is the UK's biggest Carbon emitter and aiming to be carbon negative 15 years AFTER the deadline set by climate scientists to prevent run away climate change. Apparently that is something to be proud of. #AxeDrax #greenwashing

We’re really looking forward to this webinar. Sadly we don’t have any #SchoolStreets to look forward to in Manchester since our active neighbourhood got paused, and Manchester City Council don’t seem to support the concept Angeliki Stogia @GarryBridges ? But we hope to convince them!

More alarming research on children’s health & pollution. We need - Better public transport - Protected cycle/micro-mobility lanes - Low traffic neighbourhoods & School Streets enabling walking & cycling - Clean Air Zones incl. all vehicles - Ban on woodburners (for starters!)

Your regular reminder that children of the lowest socioeconomic groups are up to 28 times more likely to be killed on the roads than those of the top socioeconomic group.

🚶🏾‍♀️ Department for Transport has opened its consultation on #pavementparking in England. This is our chance to finally put an end to it. Take action and respond to the consultation ➡️ e-activist.com/page/65594/pet…

A rare drive today into MCR & delighted to see a group of young boys, 7-8 of them, cycling, smiling, chatting in the A56 pop up lane. When it’s safe enough for a 12 year old to use independently you’ve done it right. Nice one Trafford Council. Make it permanent?

So glad we didn't panic about climate change when those dumb alarmist scientists tried to tell us about it. Believing the fossil fuel industry's talking points about "uncertainty" and "who knows if it's real" and "physics, lol, amirite?" was definitely the right call. High five!

Are cities going to "build back better" after the pandemic? Unlikely! I wrote for Cityscapes / CS on Manchester + how the super extractive 'Co-Living' model now being adopted ignores health concerns + the social/green infra demands of a high density city cityscapesmagazine.com/articles/whipl…

Big mobilizations are planned around #COP26 in Glasgow, including a big youth climate strike on November 5. Especially inspiring to see is the solidarity with striking workers -- labor justice is climate justice! x.com/GretaThunberg/…

Everyone likes to talk about having a science-based target, but nobody likes to talk about its demise. Sure, thanks TyndallManchester for helping set the carbon budget, but maybe the science-policy work could also stretch to speaking up about the city's lack of progress against it?
