This is my school. My headteacher. I am so PROUD to work for someone who stands up for what is right, for what she believes in.

Please support us in making Ofsted realise this system has to change. For teachers. For children. For . We will be heard.

The rationale for the Ofsted inspection process is that it ensures children have a good standard of education and are looked after. We can’t provide either if we don’t look after the people who care for the children.

We have solidarity in numbers.

We always have more courage when we stand together, united.

Our voices have way more power than we give them credit for.

Let's change the system. This ends now.

Keep the momentum going, and please get involved.

This is so important. 👇

The wellbeing and mental health of teachers and education staff needs to be a priority for all schools.

Better mental health leads to better education.

The huge shortfall of people joining ITT & the real time exodus of teachers (so many really experienced) is truly worrying. We can talk workload, welfare, flex etc (all highly important) but the bigger issues are pay, funding, perceptions & how teachers are treated

Just been on a coaching call with a Headteacher and we spent significant time trying to work out solutions to the ever increasing number of parent complaints she has to deal with. Are you experiencing a similar rise? Solutions please? I'm all ears! HeadteacherChat

In a world where hybrid/flexi working is becoming common, teachers still have to fight to leave school during free periods or are made to feel guilty for asking for even a few hours off for any reason whatsoever. Huge culture/mindset shift still needed.

Leadership is about how you inspire people to do their job, protect them from nonsense & support them

Teachers are paid for 1265 hours to do their job.

Yet to do the job properly and meet the demands placed on them, it requires 2000 hours of work?

That is not right.

If someone has a 35 year teaching career they will have taught over 26,000 lessons.

If you are just starting out, listen to experienced teachers. They may be a bit more cynical, and may have slowed down a bit from the manic pace of their 20s, but their experience is invaluable.

Every Head I speak to cites huge staff absences at present. Schools are always hard this time of year but this winter term feels much harder than usual. This is more than what can we do about workload.

How a school can help prevent staff illness
- lower workload and stress (direct link between stress, magnesium and immune system)
- better staffroom facilities to help them eat healthier and time to eat
- time & access to toilets to encourage water intake
- fresh air

If you didn’t make a single change to teacher salaries but sorted behaviour, workload and silly pressure - you’d retain teachers. You could have offered me £500 a day when I worked in a truly toxic school to stay, I still would have left. I did, with no job to go to.
