Our ruling class keeps claiming they're victims, or they're painted as victims by their supporters, as they keep screwing over everyday people. They give us unaffordable housing, low wages, high living costs, homeless people on our streets...and we're supposed to be nice to them?

I know this is a sardonic paraphrase, but I've spent a career working with words. Many people would take this at face value. I think anyone in the communications business has a duty to avoid misinformation, & that especially applies to political communications. #nzpol

This is a stark reminder that Australia’s whistleblower protections are fundamentally broken and underscores the urgent need for reform to ensure truth-tellers are not punished for acting in the public interest. abc.net.au/news/2025-05-2…

The trouble is, though he may be right in this instance, McKechnie always thought that sentences - and manifestly high ones - were the answer to everyone. Even first time offenders who had been referred to drug court. He probably wishes he could have hung a few. #auspol

"I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness..." Poet Allen Ginsberg, born June 3, 1926, completed his masterpiece, "Howl," while a grad student in English at Cal in 1955-1956. A groundbreaking work of LGBTQ literature, it prevailed in a landmark obscenity trial.

When Anthony Albanese supported a successful censure motion against Scott Morrison on 30 Nov 2022 he closed his speech saying, “He owes an apology to the Australian people for the undermining of democracy.” I wonder what the Prime Minister has to say today. #auspol

The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a democracy you vote first and take orders later; in a dictatorship you don't have to waste your time voting. Charles Bukowski

On World Whistleblower Day 2025 I extend my greetings to fellow whistleblowers and whistleblower advocates across the world. Keep up the good work, keep the communication lines open and know you are heroes. In a world of darkness, whistleblowers bring the light.

Hey Chris Trag Alexa Developers any idea what to do when the Nu Zillund accent gets confused for Scots and a skill for 'Hutt Radio' gets heard as 'Heart Radio' (Scotland, not UK, bizarrely)?

No #Whistleblower anywhere should have anything to fear from stepping forward & telling the truth, ever. Any government that allows any risk of repraisal isn't fit to govern. #auspol Mark Dreyfus Whistleblower Podcast Whistleblower_News

Wellington rates rose roughly 25% in the last two years. Mayoral candidate Andrew Little has an awful record & opposes rate caps. He has also stated he wouldn't sign a letter prioritizing Wellington over Labour. Yet, he’s still a strong contender? Come on, Wellington!

There's a lot in here - too much to list - that I didn't know about sleep, and I've been the subject of two detailed sleep studies, am on medication, and have read widely. Well worth reading if you struggle with sleep. And not just falling asleep, but not getting the benefits.

Have you ever noticed that "we will repeal" features rarely, if at all, in the platform of any political party? Because people go into politics believing they are superior, and their role in life is to control us. They've never seen a law they didn't like (with minor amendments).
