I don't trust recent (last several years especially) films that get glowing praise and TONS of good reviews on Letterboxd. 1. Sadly most modern films are kinda shit. 2. Upon reading their synopsis, many of them sound god awful. Standards for what makes a good film are super low

James Gunn's Superman was OK. Honestly Luthor was the worst part, to me. That Luthor was annoying. But there is no contest here, Richard Donner's Superman (and Superman II to an extent) are masterpieces. Reeves WAS Superman. Those first two films are untouchable.

Fun Fact: While bitter rivals in the marketplace, ironically, both the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo received the same final official North American release in fall 1998: a port of Frogger.

Happy 36th (North American) birthday, to my vote for the single greatest video game ever made, period. It certainly ruled my pre-teen years. Still my top favorite game to this day, even if I'm not nearly as good at it as I was back then.

The glory days, when Mortal Kombat was still 2D digitized real actors (or stop motion models).

Like all the greats, Duvall had a very distinct voice, personality, and style all his own, that no other actor was quite like.
