I want to dig in for a bit on this set of Slack replies from a Twitter manager talking about undoing some of the layoffs.

Reminder to all Twitter employees based in the UK - for more than 20 redundancies, you have to engage in a 90-day consultation process or they are breaking the law.

New investigation: I’ve spent several months talking to current and former staff at KPMG In Saudi Arabia. Many are severely traumatised by their experiences, including bullying, random firings, safety concerns, unpaid earnings and whistleblowing failures.

This whole onboarding process is a bit bureaucratic. Most jobs, you get maybe an hour-long PowerPoint presentation when you start, they show you round the office, and then you get on with it. The monarchy should get Deloitte or someone in to look for streamlining opportunities.

So, to conclude a gargantuan thread:

• But in England there remains a significant non-Covid excess which cannot be explained by extreme heat, unlike other countries
