I cycled the carlingford greenaway yesterday. Unfortunately the entire length had been sprayed with glyphosate on both sides. I support the expansion and extention of cycle infrastructure but we need to be aware that they often go through environmentally sensitive areas.

Over 30 drinking water refill stations have now been installed by group water schemes around the country. The stations grant public access to drinking water, help Ireland achieve its sustainable development goals and reduce dependency on single-use plastics. Well done to all!

A recent EPA study showed that over two thirds of waste found in general waste bins could have been placed in the recycling or organic bin.

There is a significant opportunity to improve recycling rates through awareness and enforcement of correct waste segregation practices.

Ireland has just committed to €25m p.a. at #Cop28 for Loss & Damage fund to compensate poor countries for #climate impacts fuelled by rich countries like us.

Meanwhile, Horse and Greyhound Fund allocation in Budget 2024: €95m.

There’s a joke in there somewhere for sure.
