Constellations of scurvy grass (Cochlearia officinalis) along the shore. I've not seen it here before but much lower grazing density has allowed it and many others to flourish. Enough to take a wee bit to add to salad πŸ€”

The deep blue of this morning and, from last night's wondrous cosmic display, hidden quietly amidst all the flashing neon colours, a few moments of heavenly blue! πŸ’™ πŸ’™

We were in awe of the cosmos last night, millions of us sharing similar feelings of wonder & astonishment.

But can we come together to share the same levels of wonderment for our planet & for all the amazing organisms that live beside us within the narrow envelope of life?

Yes, thousands and thousands of us, if not millions. United for once and literally gobsmacked by how magical our small world is 😊

Blue is the colour of 'solitude and of desire'... 'of there seen from here'... 'of longing for the distances you never arrive in, for the blue world of where you are not.'

This afternoon is made from the colours of cuckoos & their songs.

Just after taking this picture I watched a sea eagle harried by two calling cuckoos who in turn were chased by a gang of small birds, meadow pipits, goldfinches & others.

The smooth light and calm colours of morning... and a relatively gentle interlude at the sea-log-seat ahead of an afternoon of wind and rain.

My only response to this is to weep, for the babies, toddlers & older children, their parents & grandparents. But I also weep for my family, my children & grandchildren, who are safe, secure. Would I be able to endure such loss? I'm not certain I could.
Please. It must stop.
