Struggling to find the words today. My thoughts are with Sarah Everards family and loved ones. Once again, we as a society, are reminded of the epidemic of violence women face on our streets daily. Until all women are safe, there is no justice.

As a serving Met police officer pleads guilty to kidnapping and raping a young woman, the commissioner feels today is the appropriate time to refer to corrupt police officers as ‘bad’uns’. I despair. No institutional change will happen with this woman at the helm.

Leaflet being given out around the area Sabina Nessa was murdered with info from the Met police website. Why don’t the Metropolitan Police actually do something to make the streets safer for women instead of telling us to walk against the traffic and hide our valuables? Worthless info.

Concerns? Really? I’m sickened, angered and devastated that you had the ability to take this man off the streets before he murdered an innocent woman yet you chose to do NOTHING. Just admit that you aren’t interested in targeting institutionalised misogyny and leave it at that.

Our inboxes are flooded this morning with the same heartbreaking question: "What do I advise women to do if they're approached by a lone, male Metropolitan Police officer?" Our answer, in memory of #SarahEverard is:

Let’s stop calling him a former police officer when he was not only a serving Metropolitan Police officer at the time but abused his position of power to facilitate his crime.

Thank you @CapitalLivNews for asking such thoughtful questions today and helping to give a voice to how so many women around the country are feeling today.

Yesterday was White Ribbon Day and the start of 16 days of activism against gender based violence. Today we wake up to see a young girl has had her life taken in our city at the hands of men. My heart is broken for her and her family. We need change now.

This is what happens when you bring your sons up to have no respect for women and girls. A family has woken up today without their child because a group of young boys felt entitled to carry and use a weapon.

I was threatened with a cease & desist, a £10k fine & had officers in uniform sent to my home over a socially distanced vigil while the PM & cabinet were partying weekly. There are no words.
