Seeing this on the 3-story IMAX Dome in Charlotte back in 2008 is one of the greatest times I ever experienced severe nausea.

So many great mentions in the replies. Even though the answer is definitely Surf’s Up or God Only Knows, I gotta throw a bone to: - Please Let Me Wonder - Long Promised Road - Cabinessence - I’ll Bet He’s Nice - Girl Don’t Tell Me - Add Some Music - The Trader

It’s not often you get to see the last scene of a biopic happen in real time. This is like the big finale in Ed Wood if it actually happened.

Everyone tweeting earthquake this, earthquake that. Sorry but some of us were too sleepy to even feel it even if we were working in Midtown. It wasn’t til I got up to get some more coffee that I heard everyone asking if they felt anything.

I think about this bit regularly. Seeing it live as the shit hit the fan with NBC felt like a much-needed catharsis and, to this day, one of the coolest things a late-night host has done.

The Criterion Collection Channel needs to host a @moternmedia Retrospective: They've made 12 feature films, played no festivals, and slowly amassed an army of thousands of fans. AND IT WOULD BE THE ONLY FILMS THAT FEATURE THE STAR/CO-WRITERS REAL PHONE NUMBER. You can call him.

The Matt Farley of Motern Media guys feel like the last True Independents, and I think it’d be great if Criterion amplified their singular voices, as the Criterion Channel (along with maybe Shudder and Mubi) feels like the only streaming service where people regularly take chances on new styles

Reminding everyone that this is from the director of that old “stranger danger” video where an alien kid keeps reliving the day where he gets abducted à la Groundhog Day.

I have a theory that The Office started to go downhill because the writers and cast had been together for so long that they started enjoying their jobs more, which made it way harder for them to really dig into the whole “Work sucks” ethos, and focused on making everyone lovable

Gems like these are exactly why The Beach Boys have some of the most rewarding back catalogues of any major rock bands. Sure, other groups are more consistent, but I don’t think you’ll ever beat the Boys for sheer weirdness.

The really obvious answer to “how to stop kids from cheating using AI” is making tests and quizzes 100% manual again, in rooms where you have to use pen and paper or typewriters, which will be way less convenient but seems like only option at this point
