An update from Matthew Corner about what happened at tonight's Council meeting.
James Murphy 🇺🇦 Steffi Sutters Fleur Anderson MP Dr Rosena Marsha de Cordova Wandsworth Labour I think “not a strong look” is a bit of an understatement. My criticism applies to any MP from any party breaking a specific personal commitment. Labour MPs literally signed up to this. It’s like the LibDems and tuition fees.
Kane Emerson This is all well and good but… developers contributed £260m towards the construction of the Underground extension to Battersea Power Station - an enormous project that regenerated an entire part of London yet has been continually sneered at by Labour. Matthew Corner
'Tories; guidance on LTNs must become Labour's roadmap'. Andrew Ellson in today's Times urging Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander MP to adopt the Conservative's 'eminently sensible' draft guidance on LTNs which came out in March and which has yet to be ratified.

A vacuous Wandsworth Labour motion, which talked about the need to “work, rest and play”, like a Mars Bar commercial… Their benches seemed so depressed at Wandsworth Council, even I felt sorry for them. So I bought them a gift.
🚮 Labour-run Transport for London has shelved plans to review the #Wandsworth one-way system 🤨 But ambitious schemes are going ahead in other parts of London ❓We’ve asked Wandsworth’s Labour MPs which local transport improvements they’ll be pressing Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan to deliver
