A true hero in ending the shameful six month blockade of Ukraine aid was Foreign Affairs chair Michael McCaul. He & his staff are largely responsible for shaping this package and persuading Speaker Johnson to embrace it.

It should not have been necessary, but he deserves our thanks.

And #Ukraine gets that, which is why the country is laser-like focussed on expanding domestic arms/defensive system manufacturing. If the US can’t or won’t step up in the long term, European countries must play a big role to play here in partnering with Ukraine to achieve this.

I welcome that the U.S. House of Representatives has approved a major new package of aid to #Ukraine . Ukraine is using the weapons provided by #NATO Allies to destroy Russian combat capabilities. This makes us all safer, in Europe & North America.
