There are homes renting for $5K, $10K, and $12K a month blocks away from the BMT site. We are trying to build a port and thousands of units of housing that people who make $50K, $60K, & $70K a year can afford so they can stay in their neighborhood, not pushed out by $12K rents.

The Walton family, that inherited half of Walmart’s stock and is now worth over $400 billion, should not be allowed to pay wages so low that their workers are forced to rely on food stamps to survive. And yet, Walmart is the largest employer of workers on food stamps in America.

New York’s restaurants are booming. Two observations: 1) Despite concerns, congestion pricing has had no impact on market. 2) Just imagine if these small businesses still had access to the curb for year-round extra tables and seating. More jobs, profits, and tax revenue.

Renters should be neighbors with each other, not forced to compete by landlords for too few units.
