On #WorldStrokeDay , I think about my grandfather who never received guideline-recommended inpatient rehab post-stroke. I now know that this disparity occurs disproportionately to Hispanic stroke patients. Now I care for people post-stroke & publish on it..

In summary, between 2014-2019 low-income students were becoming increasingly underrepresented among MD applicants and matriculants.

Students from household income <$50,000 were half as likely to be admitted into MD program compared to those from household income >$200,000/yr!
