Today, the presidents and leaders of the National Nurses Associations from Africa (English speaking countries) are in Kigali, Rwanda. For the second meeting of the African Nurses and Midwives Confederation.

The delegates from Rwanda are discussing how they can improve their noble profession and see together how problems in their careers can be solved.

During the interview with the media the ICN CEO, mentioned that the challenges identified in the nursing and midwifery profession, the governments of African countries have the key to their solutions. ICN

In the ODENNA opening ceremony, the CEO of the International Council of Nurses , Mr. Howard Cotton, said « The governments of the African countries should increase the budget they are putting into health infrastructure to facilitate nurses and midwives to deliver good service. »

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) under the ODENNA project organised 5 days of workshop training « Leadership for Change”where 80 nurses and midwives from 23 African countries(English-speaking)joined together in Kigali at the Portofino Hotel ICN Gitembagara
