IRC welcomes all efforts to prevent further escalation of conflict, which is the last thing the Middle East needs. When the UN Secretary General says the region is “on the brink” it should be a wake up call to de-escalate before it is too late to prevent regional conflagration.

One year since the conflict in Sudan began, the country now faces the world's largest displacement crisis.

Our Sudan Country Director, Eatizaz Yousif, told BBC News (UK) how the IRC is responding to the growing humanitarian needs.

There’s a trickle of aid going into Gaza right now, as the population faces imminent famine. There needs to be a deluge. For every hour that the war goes on, the desperate need increases.
