Six first steps.

No gimmicks. No sticking plasters.

My changed Labour Party has a plan for a decade of national renewal.

⚠️ We are currently dealing with a report of a person falling into the River Thames at Kings Meadow.

We are working with our emergency services partners to search for them behind Tesco Extra on Napier Road.

Please avoid the area at this time. We will update when we can.

Busy ward surgery today at the New Hope Centre in York Road. Thanks to the residents who took the time to talk to us on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Good news that the Labour council is standing up for local democracy. Many residents in Thames ward have told us about their concern regarding this development.

I agree that National Equivalent Vote share (NEV) is just nonsense. It's just a bit of content for pollsters and journalists. Sadly it has given some fuel to the 'coalition of chaos' line that the right wing press can use against Labour. Best ignored.

I feel very privileged to have been re-elected in Thames Ward. Thank you to everyone who put their faith in me again. I will do my best to justify that trust and serve the whole community.
I am particularly proud to be Labour Councillor. I could never stand for any other party.

Not true to say there were no battles. The 2nd Battle of Reading was part of the Glorious Revolution and around 50 Irish troops were killed in

Also known as the Battle of Broad Street.

I’ve been speaking to young people like me in Cotham and across the city, who want to live in the area and the city they grew up in, but with the cheapest 1 bed in Cotham on Rightmove being £950 a month and ownership a pipe dream it’s just not affordable. What’s the Greens offer?

Did you know that we have a real chance to elect Tim Starkey as our first Labour Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley on 2nd May?

I've known Tim for years and he'd be great - here's a short clip from him:

I've listened to this lovely record a hundred times but today was the first time since I learned that 'Reading' in the title is a pun and refers to the town.
