We are saddened today at the passing of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Our collective thoughts are with our RCMP Commissioner in Chief, Her Majesty The Queen at this difficult time.

1 year ago today, a 2 day tragedy was coming to an end. We remember the lives taken from 22 victims, including one of our own who died trying to stop the mayhem. #novascotiastrong. We remember them!

A happy bunch of musicians tonight as the RCMP Pipes and Drums held their first in person practice since March 2020! We hope this is the first of many and a signal of "normal" coming soon.

The RCMP Pipe Band and members of the Ottawa Police Service pipe band got together for a practice at the Musical Ride grounds last night. We're hoping there will be a chance to perform for crowds later this month!

On 11 Sept, our Pipe Band performed the 1st of 4 special shows with the Musical Ride; this one for invited health workers and 1st responders with families. Next week is for other front line workers. Our band performed with the Ottawa Police Service Pipe Band and their dancers.

November 3, the band board of directors met with the new CO of National Division, Asst Commissioner Ches Parsons to brief him on band activities. At that time, the CO presented the band with his personal banner, which will be carried on the Pipe Major's bagpipes on parades.

At the band's Dining-In last Saturday, the Thornton award for 2021 was presented to Jenny Putinski. Congratulations, Jenny, from the band management team and all band members and dancers, for this well deserved honour. Read more on the band's web site rcmppipesanddrums.com/thornton-award…

Sunday 6 February marks 70 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended to to the throne. In 2009, Police Service Horse "George" was presented to her at Windsor Castle. The RCMP is proud to have Her Majesty as the "Commissioner in Chief" and she is a strong supporter of the Force.
