The Festive Season continued yesterday with a spectacular Veterans Christmas Lunch celebration. 80 Christmas Lunches were served to Veterans from across our community reflecting former members across all 3 services Thank you for your incredible support and camaraderie.

A big thank you to Amey Defence for choosing RAF Honington to receive Christmas Hampers to distribute amongst Veterans in our local communities. Station Commander Max Hayward received the hampers today from Dan Ashworth, Amey Customer Community Engagement Officer.

RAF Honington has hosted MPs enrolled on the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme. The AFPS provides MPs, most of whom have no experience of the Services, an insight into military life so that they are more informed when they make contributions in Parliament.

Honington Youth Club have been helping those in need by designing posters and boxes for collection displays in the Community Centre and Youth Club. The donations received went to Emmaus a UK based charity and community working together to end homelessness.

The RAF Honington Comunity Team have been out and about delivering the Amey Defence Christmas Hampers to Veterans. All 3 services represent here. Merry Christmas to you all.

A good clean slog on a cold wintry day but the balance of power leant one way with a resounding 11-3 victory by the SNCOs over the Officers in the Annual Football Friendly.

The Station Commander, Station Warrant Officer and Padre took some time out on Christmas Day to deliver some generously donated gifts from a family with long links to the Station to duty personnel and homemade cookies from the Hayward Residence.

The Green Lane 30mph limit is in place to protect the workforce and traffic in the works underway at the Main Gate and entry point Crash Gate 2A. They will be in place until May and involve single lane restrictions and traffic control. Slow down to 30mph and keep everyone safe!

The area around the Station Armoury and C hangar are currently out of bounds to all pedestrians and vehicles due to falling debris. Stay safe and follow the safe routes

Today we hosted Air Vice-Marshal Suraya Marshall, AOC 2 Group, for our Annual Formal Inspection on what will be her last visit to RAF Honington. A first for the Station today being a daytime visit from an A400 from RAF Brize Norton.

Last week, Station Commander Wg Cdr Hayward and honoured guest Chief Master Sgt Griego from 100 ARW at RAF Mildenhall, were privileged to present Honours and Awards to RAF Honington Personnel. Congratulations to all award recipients 👏👏

Last week, we said Farewell to Charlie Butcher, who retired after working for the Civil Service for 16 years. Charlie, you will be missed at RAF Honington, wishing you a long and happy retirement!
