This week RAF Odiham hosted Cubs, Scouts and Leaders from 1st Chineham Scout Group.

The Cubs and Scouts were given the chance to explore a Chinook and take part in aircraft related activities.

Visits like this help the Cubs and Scouts achieve their Air Activities Badge!

Chinooks from RAF Odiham relocated to RAF Shawbury for a two-week exercise to practice operating from different locations.

This helps ensure that the heavy-lift helicopters are ready to fly and fight whenever and wherever required.

Over the past two weeks, 18 (Bomber) Squadron have been flying in support of Ex Pegasus Fury from RAF Shawbury

The exercise has seen three aircraft flying a number of different and varied sortie profiles, including trooping, low-level flying, mountain flying and threat evasion training.

We can’t wait for the arrival of the new Extended Range Chinooks!

The increase in capability that they will bring to the Chinook Force will be invaluable to our continued support of UK Defence Operations.

Due to ongoing global commitments, particularly in support of NATO partners, RAF Chinook Display will not be conducting a full display this year.

2024 will see a reduced programme of role demonstrations, showcasing the aircraft’s incredible capabilities.

Air Cdre Sonia Phythian today visiting RAF Odiham .Proud to hear of the achievements of SMO Wg Cdr Bassett, WO Kenna & their team as they strive to deliver the highest standards of primary healthcare to a busy operational unit, with a number of RAF Odiham’s Med Pers currently deployed on Ops.

Congratulations to the RAF Odiham Squash players who had a hugely successful RAF Squash Champs this week 🏆.

The event was held at Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis and Squash Club from 30 Jan to 1 Feb.

Yesterday, Stn Cdr RAF Odiham & Chinook Fce Comd Gp Capt Roberts joined the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane 2023/24, and dignitaries from across Basingstoke, at the Holocaust Memorial Service.

Holocaust Memorial Day is a time when we reflect on the past, take time to learn from it, and remember all those who suffered 💜

Hideous conditions🤢 but hopefully changing! 🌊

We’ve been reliably informed that the team have had several encounters with flying fish 🐟 or ‘Exocoetus’ for the science buffs within the mix 😉 although not quick enough with the cameras!

Here’s to the next Exocoetus! 🫢
