@queensburysos

We lost the building and won a pub. Only time will tell if The Queensbury is replaced. Here's hoping.

Good luck. It is such a wretched process, with people paid a lot of money with a lot at stake. Communities get squeezed out along the way but it's us having to live with the decisions.

Really sad news as @thequeensbury is our home too. Thanks for all your efforts so far, so committed and such a fantastic effort. #thequeensbury #willesdengreen

Thank you everyone for your support. A campaign to be proud of. Unfortunately the council did not support us. They voted to demolish the Goldsmiths Arms

Dithering is the understatement of the century. Disingenuous nonsense from the Brent PR team. The government Inspector noted the lack up preparation. Those are the facts. Award Winning Brent Planners painted themselves into a corner and we have to live with their incompetence.

So sad to hear our beautiful local is set to be demolished & replaced with block of 48 flats. Housing badly needed but this site is way too tiny for that & decision lands a big blow to lovely community feel created here. A sad loss after a wonderful campaign by SaveTheQueensbury.

Short term opportunistic greed has led to the loss of a building that survived two World Wars. Flats that had to be tweaked so as to meet bare minimum size standards, missing targets of Affordable housing also. At least we didn't get The Tower.

We've heard from our community members that the two further appeals on The Queensbury NW2 have been withdrawn. We didn't hear this from Planning Inspectorate nor from Brent Council Charming. Least that means we have certainty about what should happen next.

Willesden only recieves up to 15% of CIL because it has no Plan. Spent mainly on trees by the looks of it. With a neighbourhood plan it would rise to 25%. So the CIL paid in The Queensbury NW2 as part of the deal made with Brent Council goes to initiatives in Wembley.

We are hosting a community meeting about the B&Q site. 26 Feb 7-8:30PM Ivy Room Clayton Crown Hotel This won't be a debate with Montreaux or Barnet Council. It's for people who live in Cricklewood so we can talk together about how we respond to this large planning application
