I have been volunteering for over a decade on this long-running monitoring study (35 years) of the southern Kosciusko population of the critically endangered Mountain Pygmy Possum. How could you not love these cuties??

A very sad discovery in one of my nestboxes today... the remains of an Eastern Pygmy Possum. This drought is affecting flowering and nectar production - and it’s affecting a lot of species. 😥 #wildoz #climatecrisis #climateactionnow #ecology

With fewer than 2,000 left in the wild, these Moutain Pygmy-possum babies are particularly precious and are another conservation success story from our Fighting Extinction program! 😍 Luckily for these ones, the four-month vet check got the all clear! ✔
