Acting training should be a component of all teacher preparation: voice control, public performance, improv. Also, communication skills, active listening, non-verbal communication. Lecturing, facilitating discussion, orchestrating active learning—these are skills, not magic.

Improving education requires a system approach. We’ve got to open our courses, share and revise regularly, and become comfortable learning to be better teachers. It’s not enough to be ‘that active learning prof’. #evidencebasedteaching
