Single use-plastics pollute our Earth and adversely impact our health, but we know they can be hard to avoid.

Sourcing more of your fruit locally can help reduce your plastic consumption - and those small changes add up 🌍!

Anyone for nettle tea? 🌿 At Cae Tan's recent 'spring leaves' session volunteers could try not only tea, but also hedgerow salads & plant some medicinal herbs. We've been working at this CSA site on the Gower Peninsula in Wales as part of our community food forest project.

We had so much fun adding herbaceous perennials & wildflower seeds to the orchard in Crowcroft Park recently!

Thanks to Garden on a Roll & @meadowingarden for donating plants, Greater Manchester Environment Fund and to all the volunteers who have helped cultivate this greenspace for the community 🍐

Did you know that we don't just create new orchards, but also help to restore old ones?

Our Glasgow Project Manager Fergus was joined by some enthusiastic local volunteers in Kinlochard to prune neglected veteran apple trees on a housing estate.

A planting, pruning and grafting bonanza has been happening at community orchard sites over the past few months, so if you see one of our project managers out and about looking a little frazzled, you'll know why!

Today is officially the first day of Spring 🌱 Why not head out to your local community orchard or greenspace and re-connect with nature to celebrate? This quote from social worker & environmental activist Knut Ivar Bjørlykhaug felt like a fitting reminder for this time of year.
